Most Monday's I try to wake up on a positive note~"It will be a good day"~Now how it actually turns out, that's another story. After a weekend of Dalton's pre-teen hormones, I was really looking forward to school and work today. Kailey really is such a goof ball~We are going to have our hands FULL in a couple of years!!!! After getting to work, I answered the phone to hear "Hee! Hee! Hi Mommy, Im going to the bus stop~but I have chicken pox and should stay home" After convincing her she can go to school (she had the pox a few years back) I looked at my phone and noticed a voicemail "Hi Mommy!! cough, cough I have a sore throat cough, cough and if you believe this hee! hee! Bye Bye!!" How can you not love being a Mommy after that?
Unfortunately, the day got bad~after running a friend to the tire shop for repairs, my truck just stopped! After the usual battery of questions from Dad, Shawn, and a friend at the repair shop~yes I had gas in the truck, no I don't know what happend, yes I tried to restart it. After waiting outside for 3 hrs for a tow truck~we finally found out it was just something mechanical that I had nothing to do with, and could be fixed without the need to sell a kiddo.
After all of that I decided to check in on Chloe Newman's blog, Chloe is the daughter of an old friend of Shawn's. She has been inpatient at Kosair Childrens Hospital for I think 10-11 weeks following a bone marrow transplant. Learning of some recent setbacks and worries, I had to just brush my bad day off, look at my kids and be so thankful~thankful for the funny voicemails, the hormonal remarks and attitude, thankful for all my blessings I easily overlook each day. Please visit Chloe's blog and leave a comment and keep her family in your prayers.
